1. Cook the onion, garlic and oil in a large saucepan for 3 minutes.
2. Add 1/2 cup broth and 15 ounces of black beans to a food processor and puree.
3. Add the puree to the saucepan and stir in the remaining ingredients.
4. Bring the mixture to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
5. Serve garnished with fresh cilantro.
