1. Add barley and water to large bowl. Soak overnight. Do not drain.
2. Add barley mixture to saucepan. Simmer over low heat 1 hour.
3. Stir in white sugar, frozen raspberries, and raisins.
4. Simmer 30 minutes.
5. Stir in cherries. Simmer 15 minutes.
6. Chill in refrigerator until ready to serve.
7. Serve cold in chilled soup bowls or glasses.
